Simon P. Oliver

One of the truly wonderful things about maintaining a website like this is it gives me the opportunity to 'meet' a wide variety of people who share my passion for and fascination with sharks.  While most people who contact me want help with their current shark-related project or permission to use some of my material, every now and then I am astonished at the kindness of strangers.

Simon P. Oliver first contacted me in October 2001 expressing appreciation for our website and with a generous offer to allow us to use some of his shark photographs.  Simon is a Canadian  underwater photographer who presently resides and works in the Middle East.  He has done quite a lot of work throughout South East Asia with particular emphasis on The Philippines, Indonesia and the Red Sea.  As you can see, his work is absolutely beautiful, technically proficient with a distinct compositional style.

We are grateful for his generous permission to use his shark images and wish him the greatest continued success pursuing a career in underwater photography.  Simon can be contacted at OliverS@ipa.edu.sa .
